The day after "My day" and things are now clear
It no longer matters what sentiments we hear
Either Fathers not there
Or Fathers whom don't care
Or the Fathers that no longer want to be there.
We manage divorces and partings of ways
When some Fathers pass and yet some Fathers stay
We risk giving promise to those we hold dear
And yet give a tolerant space that's unclear
To those Fathers choosing to stay clear from here.
But for those of us promising our children hope
A place where we foster how best we can cope
But rather the excuse of reasons to leave
Its our children's sweet innocence that we thieve!
So be there for those we have born from our loins
Its the child support set by the courts to purloin
Yet the time is the thing which we tend not to task
But those times are the things in which our children ask
Of why we aren't there when their Mothers ask 'Why?'
But the lack luster effort of those that don't try!
So as Father's I ask that we answer the call
For these children, our children, CAN BE there for us all!
Just be there for them and they'll show you the way
For paternity is not just some game that we play!
I love you, my Tyler and Kayla!
